Dark brown with red reflections and medium-large textured ivory foam that leaves the lace in the glass. Scent of caramel, chocolate, raisins, dates, citrus fruits, vanilla, light citrus and pineapple, pine and resin. On the palate molasses, bread crust, dehydrated dark fruit and chocolate, vanilla, robustly bitter finish on resinous and pine soils. Body and medium carbonation. Hot abv.

Pours a straight-up brown color with a thin layer of head. The nose has notes of molasses. The mouthfeel is sticky and the flavor is sweet with the maltiness blending well with a maple syrup flavor. The body is not particularly hefty but it is robust enough to make for a good autumnal drink.

Deep raisin flavor up front. Pretty boozy. Rich creamy with a sharp alcohol finish. Slight smokiness.
Strange coating of the tongue.
Really good and interesting.
From a 22 oz bottle personally bottled from original purchase.

Holy smokes, this jawn is delicious. Tons of raisin, rye toast, and caramel on the nose, and its taste follows suit in almost every aspect. Buttery smooth mouthfeel...much creamier than most browns. My fave offering from this Ohio brewery. Sampled from a 22oz bottle in April 2018. Well done!

Appearance – Clear brown body with a two finger head that was rocky at first but died down.
Aroma – Nutty malt, brown bread, well done toast, with a floral character.
Taste – Nutty malt, bitter pine, dark bread. Alcohol noticeable. Long bitter finish.
Mouthfeel – Oily and coats the tongue but not unpleasant.
Overall – A good beer but the alcohol is too prominent. Hefty price tag as well.

I don't know what makes this bottle different, but the taste and overall have greatly improved. The taste, while still boozy, has a richer malt character to it. There is a rich caramel and tobacco note to things with elements of mocha and vanilla. Perhaps this is all due to a different time and different taste bud parameters. Regardless, a fine imperial brown ale.
------------------------------------------------------------
Nice dark brown body; one-finger thick head; sticky foam sheets clinging to the sides of the glass. Some roasted and charred grain notes in the aroma; faint brown sugar. Heavy sweetness, primarily charred sugars; a bit boozy. Heavy body; residual sugar heaviness with coating the tongue; warm and velvety.
I'd love to love this beer, yet it seems rather slap-dash. There is little enticing smell and the flavors seem harsh and clashing overall. It is big and boozy yet lacks memorable depth, balance, and complexity.

Aroma is caramel, citrus/fruit, mild sugar and a hint of tea. The flavor is caramel/toffee, fruit/citrus, malts mild sugar and a mix of slightly thick/syrupy sweetness, tart/sour and warming alcohol in the finish.

Poured into a Chimay goblet not sure when it was bottled. Pours a very attractive mahogany with a two inch light tan head that leaves behind some streaks of lace.
Smell is caramel, toffee, molasses, dates, brown sugar, and some warming alcohol.
Taste follows caramel, toffee, brown sugar, molasses upfront with some dark fruit and alcohol in the finish.
Mouthfeel is a little above medium, mild carbonation, not really dry, and excellent drinkability for 10.4% ABV.
Overall this is a very good imperial brown ale that has hints of alcohol, but you would never expect it was so strong. Thanks @jzeilinger for this treat.
