Poured into a pint glass from a 22oz Bomber
Appearance: Pours a deep dark black with a nice tan head that has lasts.
Smell: Can definitely smell the liquor, whiskey. Honestly I struggle to smell much else. The liquor aroma is overwhelming.
Taste: Interesting profile. The liquor flavor hits you immediately, however its not over-powering. It's balanced out by roasted malt flavors and some slight chocolate-ness. Pretty sweet.
Mouthfeel: Nice malty profile. High carbonation. Some fizzing sting on the tongue. Not really 'silk'-like.
Overall this is an interesting brew. Liquor aroma is overwhelming, and the carbonation is at odds with the style. But the flavor profile is good. This is an nice complex beer. Could do with some refining.

Velvety black with a thin layer of wavy, lazy tan carbonation.
I got more pineapple and coconut on the nose that I expected, while the Porter elements are a bit subdued by these brighter characteristics.
Flavors of green apple, sweet tobacco, and some vinous notes add a much fruitier essence than the smooth, slightly chocolatey and mild flavors of Silk. With time, the brandy presence becomes significant, with notes emulating white wine.
A bit unorthodox for Frog, this had a fizzy texture to it at times, with some tang and spice from the barrel, and a slight, sharp bite as well.
