A rare gem. Thick, viscous and black. Truly old school... no new spice nor fluff. Pepper is minimal, balancing the sweetness, if anything. Get it if you can.

22oz bottle poured into a pint glass shows an almost purple-black lightless body and briefly floats a 1/4in cocoa colored head that disappears and leaves a clean glass behind.

Aromas of dark fruit, chocolate, and sweet roasty malt dominates.

Flavors match with a subtle black pepper spice touch at the back.

Mouthfeel is creamy, full, and finishes clean.

Overall a very nice porter.

Rich roasted aroma, with hints of chocolate. The beer pours an opaque black with a thin ring of tan head. Chocolate and coffee flavors are balanced out by an earthy note of black pepper. Rich full mouthfeel, with a finish that's a nice blend of roast and pepper. Overall, it's a very solid entry into a rarer style of beer.

Black with a soft tan head that retains a moderate ring.

I smell nuts, faint banana, and a woody element that is not quite pine.

Taste is raisin and roastiness, with a very nice and smooth frothiness, and a semi-dry finish.

I liked this a lot but wasn't able to walk away with a lot of descriptors. I really want to try this again, but fear it will be gone soon as this collaboration yielded only a small amount of brew for Frog to bring back from what I understand.
