This tar black stout has an odd charred flavor at first, kind of like burnt malt--it's super roasty and smoky of cigar skin and tobacco, with notes of charred Napolitano pizza crust before it warms and melds into a smooth, chocolatey syrup with hints of cherry Coke and mocha. The finish is sticky and dry with hints of cinnamon. It's odd at times, but then also exuding flavors from the underlying barrel, such as toasted peppercorn, maple and coconut.
