Dark brown color. Thin, beige head. Caramel malt, cookie dough, and coconut are in the aroma. Malty, moderately sweet taste. Good and unusual. Brown ales are not that common anymore.

Revisited October 24th, 2023
Same pour color but the head stayed thick and sustained. No change with my smell or taste impressions from the first go-around. The mouthfeel seems a tad thicker, richer, still smooth and velvety.
The beer came from the same batch as my August try at it. The only real difference would be that it is slightly warmer, so I'm thinking that was more conducive to head retention as well as the richer mouthfeel.

Pours a clear, medium toned brown color; initial thick, fizzy head that fades to a thin yet lasting light khaki color. Muted chocolate chip cookie smell; a touch of zesty spiciness. Very good flavors of chocolate drops and brownies; shredded coconut and vanilla sweetness; crème de menthe; muted yet robust underlying bitterness balances the sweetness layers. Medium body; silky.
An interesting take on a brown ale. I like the coconut and mint-like flavors. Seems a bit thin body-wise, but easy drinking for its ABV level.

12oz can from Tavour. Dark brown pour, light coming in around the edges, fizzy beige head. Aroma is a sweet. boozy coconut and caramel combination. Taste is sweet, strong, caramel and light coconut. One of the better cookie beers I've had.

Chocolate brown with ruby highlights under tan froth; almonds + melted chocolate; fudge brownie, honeycomb, nutty undertones, coconut meat, marzipan end; chewy, medium-full, low carb, round.

Unapologetically a dessert stout: thick + sugary with no umami. The cakey body jumps out especially; feels like lots of unfermented sugars.
The coconut is low, too, but that’s not the issue here: the problem is it’s not much of a brown. Where are the melanoidins?!
Add in that there’s no roast or hops to cut the sweet + this is just kinda dead candy.
Sugar bomb, in a bad way.

L: Pours dark brown/black with a mocha head that dissipates with mild lacing.
S: Very unique smell - hints of coconut and caramel.
T: Chocolate, coconut, fudge, caramel.
F: Smooth feel with medium carbonation and some added sharpness
O: Great beer and definitely tastes like a liquefied girl scout cookie (the good ones). Some complexity with a merging of coconut and chocolate as well as some whisky like sharpness. Solid beer!

Pouring clear brown, this Somoa-inspired ale fills to opaque dark brown with a swirling mocha blanket that dies to a thin film and ring leaving spotty lace.
Smell is milky hot cocoa with roasted nuts and a bit of booze, like brandy soaked coconut that simultaneously emulates a smooth coconut cream.
Taste is kind of brown-like, featuring some dark bread and mixed nuts, with a touch of sweetening caramel, light vanilla whip and milk chocolate. This is all just before the toasted coconut perfectly blossoms mid-palate, like you've made it yourself, freshly at home.
The round, medium-full body has a velvety carbonation before finishing semi-wet with a bit of a heat on the swallow.
---
The 2023 release, which, though canned, I'm having on draft, tastes stronger than I remember of the bottled version. It's got a pretty sharp bite to it right up front that follows through in the swallow. It also has some barleywine characteristics to it, like a bit of pine resin amidst the subtle coconut or chocolate. It's not too terribly drinkable, perhaps less so than the 3.95 I originally gave it.
