Dark red, spanning hues of shimmering ruby to darker copper-brown, with no head.
The ginger here has a medicinally potent strength, and paired with the underlying booze of this strong ale, it becomes quite hot and sort of off-putting. Additionally, the malt here comes across as a sort of stale biscuit and peanut, before a slight hint of orange surfaces towards the end of this crisp, tingly and soda-like beverage that finishes unexpectedly dry.
This is like a ginger beer made by someone that doesn't really specialize in cocktails. We have a cocktail lounge in Cleveland called the Velvet Tango Room that makes an amazing ginger beer, and you can even order it on its own, but I dare not unless I really need to clear out my sinuses. While Frog usually shows a skilled touch with new, unique beers, this one just isn't in their wheelhouse and it's far too oddly extreme for me.
