Burnt mahogany brown, muddied to almost black yet oddly never quite achieving it, with a thin tan head settling to a curled ring.

Fiery hot with tons of spirit, this is syrupy and viscous, yet moderate of body, as the silky liquid is cut by a finely thin, crisp carbonation, delivering black licorice and substantially toasty, ultra dark malt. The barrel char brings black pepper, and as such is more spicy than decadent, and faintly nutty, exhaling that heat. I actually get a vanilla rum sort of character as it warms.
