Sparkling clear gold with a moderately short but dense white head settling to a thin but persistently creamy film and curled collar.
The softly rounded medium body starts with toasted corn and corn bread notes until the crisp carbonation glides in, adding a mildly assertive herbal hop profile that contains hints of allium and faint pine before coming to a clean and gently dry finish. An unusually woody, almost meaty characteristic emerges far in the background on the exhale that adds a savory touch to the overall experience throughout.
It definitely is a well made interpretation of a German Pilsner, and while never too late, it's about damn time! They've always put out high quality product, and I've been dying for them to try their hand at some lower ABV brews like this.
