Pouring clear brown but filling to coffee black, a short and level bubbly foam blanket quickly recedes to a thin but creamy khaki ring.
The Dodgefather delivers big but savory cinnamon--not too spicy, and not too decadent--like breakfast toast met by a dark chocolatey roast. That roast in and of itself avoids the signature HoFro heft--often combined with their aggressive hopping--that can tend to emulate cedar, making this instead much more mild and smooth. The exhale has a mild heat containing hints of vanilla within the dark chocolate, while the coffee has a minimal presence that must do some balancing with any sweetness, as this is just Goldilocks in that regard.
The medium silky body has a fine, gently crisp fizz that comes to a just semi-dry, lightly tingly finish. It's really quite drinkable for the ABV and style, not chewy or imposing like many of their stouts can be.
