Hazy melba crust brown with a short khaki head that fizzles out to nothing.
Leave it to the Frog to try out a whacky but simple combination you wouldn't normally think of, but the barrel actually adds a more savory quality to the usually bright and zippy base, and it's quite unique.
Notes of lightly salted caramel up front transition to deeper gooey caramels, maybe even exhaling Cow Tales, which makes the lemony Berliner begin translating overall as an aged mulled cider. It even takes on characteristics of cherry or blackberry pie over time.
The effervescence of the base seems slightly softer, while the body has reduced a little, adding more viscosity.
It works very well as a sort of fall themed Berliner, if ever there were such a thing, which is particularly noteworthy since there were no added spices.
