Aged in Ex-Bourbon Maple Syrup barrels to add the ideal finish, this beer pays homage to our Head Brewer Lee's antique waffle iron collection, and to celebrate the Black Friday Waffle Breakfast we've hosted at the brewery at this beginning of the holiday season. It fills your senses with cooking like at grandmas, with fresh waffle flavor and aroma from Maple syrup and these amazing century-old cast-iron waffle irons in action

Bomber from Hoppin' Frog. Inky black pour, oily, ring of beige head. Maple in the aroma, roasty, bitter, chocolate, coffee. Taste is sweet, maple, coffee, chocolate syrup. Sweetness dies off leaving a nice roasty bitter finish.

poured from a 22oz bomber into a CW snifter. pours an oily black with a half finger of mocha brown foam head. foam settles into a ring around the glass with an abundance of smaller swirls. aromas of maple drenched pancakes, whiskey-spiked coffee, fudge and toffee. reminiscent of a fine breakfast. taste follows with the maple and chocolate leading the way. it’s got some roast to it and even some of the coffee i got on the nose. the bourbon hits on the finish as it reaches room temperature. full mouthfeel that is way too smooth from the oats. makes it almost too easy drinking. this is a top notch breakfast stout.

Matte black with a short but densely creamy mocha head that slightly puffs up before dispersing to a sparse film and curled ring.
Holy shit, this is a deliciously huge step up from the original Black Friday bottle. The maple barrel adds a toasted toffee and lightly smoky accent to the syrupy espresso roast and assertive TORIS elements.
The overall bump in sweetness is actually really helpful to its drinkability, whereas before it had a little bit of a harsh bite, it's now rounded out, with the most fitting accents.
---
Two years later, the maple barrel seems to have actually bloomed a little bit, adding complexity by developing a distinct bittering char as well as a hint of maple candy, making this last bottle all the more delicious in the end.
