Body puts a basic brown with little head and no discernible lacing during the tasting.
Nose is a pleasant mix of nutmeg and cinnamon. Aroma is clear but not overly done.
Taste follows nose but adds an apple flavor to the malty body making the ale quite sweet (though well paired to the spicing.) The ABV is well masked.
Mouthfeel is heavy and carbonation should be better.

Foggy burnt amber to fallen leaf light brown under a tall puffy khaki head that settles to thick creamy mounds leaving waves of lace.
The cinnamon is mild and, as advertised, it also has lightly fruity accent, sort of like pear that's almost candied. It's very fitting for the holidays, to be sure, but like a much less intensely spiced Frosted Frog, with a softer, fluffy yet filling medium body.
As is often the case when it comes to Hoppin' Frog, I'm not sure I've had anything quite like it, but it's a good alternative if you want a holiday ale but Frosted Frog happens to be too heavily spiced for you.
