Super tasty German-style amber lager made with German malt and hops and aged in rye whiskey barrels to add great complexity and depth.

Cloudy ruby,brown appearance.
Around a medium body with light carbonation.
Aroma is malty, alcohol, whiskey, rye grain, rye bread, with some wood.
Taste is a little sweet, malty, whiskey rye bread, a little earthy wood in the background.
Overall this was an excellent well done beer. This brewery makes some unusual beer and this was one of them but done really well.

Poured from a pint can stamped best by 2026, the lager pours an opaque amber-brown. Minimal carbonation and no lacing whatsoever.
Aroma is sweet malt, caramel with whiskey. Butterscotch notes appear upon warming. Very pleasant.
Taste follows nose with the rye being fully present, but not too hot, Very flavorful.
Despite the dearth of carbonation, I still liked the mouthfeel overall. Smooth and a twinge of carbonation makes this one an easy drinker.

Pours a clear deep amber color, minimal head. Robust malty aroma - the bourbon barrel definitely comes through here. Medium bodied and complex, loads of bready and sweet malty flavor, o get some toffee flavor, light caramel. Carbonation adds a creamy texture. Overall a delicious beer, it’s hard to pull off BBA lagers, but of course Hoppin Frog did it.

16oz can from Tavour. Clear amber pour, patchy off-white head. Sweet, malty aroma, light booze, barrel notes. Taste is toffee, boozy, sweet, brown sugar. Creamy feel, latent warmth. So delicious.

Largely clear and slightly darker amber to light brown with a short khaki head condensing to a slightly ridged, softly thin blanket.
An inoffensively round and smooth body with an initially mild carbonation that increases to an almost crisp vibration delivers semisweet qualities of zucchini bread and lighter caramels with fainter hints of toast and butterscotch. As it warms some Brazil nut emerges.
The barreling seems to provide a touch of warmth and banana-like vanilla, but not much else. Perhaps there's a little more zip and spice to the nose, though.
Unsurprisingly, it's an oddball that's hard a fit to any style, but it's also hard to fully appreciate or enjoy. There's a touch of ester that's almost unpleasant.
