Rich and malty, with layers of lightly caramelized, medium, and highly caramelized dark malt flavors. These create the perfect balance with an alluring toffee and biscuity flavor, and a touch of roasty dryness in the finish. Sláinte!!!

Had this at Winking Lizard - Lakewood. On their beer specials menu.
Pours at deep ruby red with a finger of tan head. Pretty beer.
Nose of caramel malts. Invitingly sweet, in a dessert kind of way.
Heavy mouthfeel with little to no carbonated influence.
Taste follows the nose very closely, and unfortunately so. Malty sweet in the beginning which I looked forward to it fading, but it didn't. That's why I did not rate this beer better. It just needed a solid bitterness in the end and after to balance it and that wasn't there.
Funny enough, one of the waiters asked me about this beer, as he said he was a big fan of red ales, but was hesitant because of the ABV. I told him his hesitation was very warranted.

Ruddy red cloudy body with an off white cap that is thicker around the collar. Tate is mildly resinous with malt booze to the max in an IRA. Raisin, gooey caramel, slight orange slice, more booze and mulled berries round out the sip. Potent! The nose is more subdued with malt tones leading, a touch of earth and biscuit, minor boozy raisin hints. Smooth and light but thick and very boozy, but never breaks down or becomes out of balance amazingly. This massive beer in a lighter style worked, and it will get you with that abv... Slainte!

Kind of thick, syrupy, very strong and malty. Boozy. Tasty, but nothing outstanding.

Aroma is huge caramel/toffee/malts, and apart from the alcohol pretty much expected for the style. The flavor is toffee, caramel malts and a warming alcoholic/medium/strong sweet finish.

250 ml can, best by FEB 23 2026 stamped on the bottom of the can. Big thanks to Brutaltruth for this! Served in a Hoppin' Frog snifter, the beer pours a reddish/orange color with about a half inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both decent. The brew smells like bready malt, booze, candied oranges, dark fruit and some brown sugar. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some raisin, toffee and licorice flavors too. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit slick and syrupy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this one, but it's still kinda boozy at this point so maybe aging it longer wouldn't have been a bad idea. With that being said, it's certainly worth trying!

Tavour introduced me to my first Hoppin’ Frog beer, and I’ve been grabbing more ever since. This is only my second one, but I have quite a few more waiting to try after this one. This is by far the highest abv I’ve seen in any type of Red Ale. Let’s crack it open and see what it has to offer
Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a finger of light tan head that fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
The nose brings a nice balance of typical Red Ale spiciniess and fruity sweetness. I’m picking up on aromas of biscuity malt, earthy hops, raisin, black pepper, sweet toffee, brown sugar, orange marmalade, black cherry, light honey, and chestnut
It’s pretty similar in taste, I’m really digging that balance. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting raisin, brown sugar, black cherry, molasses, biscuity malt, earthy hops, burnt caramel, rye bread, and light black pepper. The swallow brings notes of raisin, candi sugar, biscuity malt, earthy hops, burnt caramel, jammy fig, anise, black pepper, and burnt caramel
A medium full body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a smooth beer. Finishes mostly dry and drinks remarkably below its abv
This is a damn good imperial take on a classic style. I kinda wish I grabbed more

From the tomato juice can in a snifter. This monster pours a luminous
dark ruby red with a modest head of white foam that settles to a thin ring
with nice legs with motion. Nose of brown sugars, light breaded malts, and
spicy alcohol phenol notes with hints of raisin and dates. Flavors are
inspiring for the ABV of this beast. Breaded malts crusted with brown sugar,
golden raisin, date, and spicy alcohol notes. Mouth feel is medium, smooth,
light carbonation, lightly syrupy, and finishing warm and subtly dry.
Overall----a real surprise considering the heft of this one.
Cheers

250ml can from Tavour. Dark amber pour, cloudy, a few bubbles. Sweet malty aroma with a ton of booze and associated heat. Taste doesn't deviate too much, sweet, malty, brown sugar and the ever present alcohol. Glowing warmth rises late, warming the chest.

Reddish copper colored body with a slight haziness; lively, coarse carbonation; thin head with a bit of stickiness. Orange marmalade and caramel on the nose. Big sweet malt and zesty, spicy flavor; boozy undercurrent; star anise and cinnamon; phenols; honey. Heavy body; dense residual sugars; sticky; boozy warmth.
An interesting take on Irish red ales with unique tastes and a nice, boozy finish.

Slightly yet uniformly foggy burnt orange to acorn red, its short khaki foam disperses to a thin chain around a smooth surface.
No where near as hot as I thought it would be, this actually has a rounded, nearly full body but for a finely crisp carbonation that allows a nuttiness to express after a touch of fruity plum or figgy pudding. The exhale becomes toasty pumpernickel that then brings it back to Brazil nut.
Really, it's actually quite satisfying.
