From the 16 oz can in a snifter via Bluejacket74! Cheers Dude!
This solid little brew pours a muddled burnt auburn with a quickly
dissipating head of khaki foam that sizzles to nothingness. Nose of
orange zest, bourbon, brown sugars, vanilla, ginger, and light cinnamon.
Flavors hit the mark with bourbon, subtle oak, vanilla, brown sugars, ginger,
cinnamon, rich caramel, and orange zest. Mouth feel is medium, faint
carbonation, smooth, warming, and finishing moderately sweet without
being overly cloying.
Overall, a solid brew based on a classic cocktail.
Cheers

16 ounce can, best before JAN 4 2026 stamped on the bottom of the can. Served in a Hoppin' Frog snifter, the beer pours a muddy brownish/red/burnt orange color with not quite an inch tan head that fizzled away pretty quickly. No lacing at all. The brew smells like brown sugar, vanilla, dark fruit, candied oranges, caramel and some bourbon. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some oak and ginger flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's smooth and a bit syrupy with a low/moderate amount of carbonation. This does remind me of an Old Fashioned, worth trying if you get the chance!

It is dark brown in color and has a thin, beige head. The aroma is of malt, spices, and bourbon. The taste is sweet and malty with alcohol notes. Not bad, but Hoppin Frog can do better.

Lately the more experimental offerings I’ve been trying from Hoppin’ Frog have been quite hit or miss, but I have a feeling this one could work out well. I’m sure it’ll be quite boozy given it’s meant to emulate and Old Fashioned, but I think they’ve got it figured out. Let’s dive right in
Pours a murky orange brown with a finger of creamy beige head that quickly fades to a thin ring and leaves minimal lacing
The nose actually presents a nice sweetness while only being gently boozy. I’m picking up on aromas of sweet bourbon, orange marmalade, raisin, milk chocolate, cola nut, dates, burnt caramel, vanilla, brown sugar, and angostura bitters
Things aren’t quite as cohesive in taste, bringing a little more of a sharp booziness but I can’t really complain. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting earthy bourbon, molasses, cherry pit, brown sugar, orange zest, angostura bitters, milk chocolate, light dates, and burnt caramel. The swallow brings notes of earthy bourbon, brown sugar, dates, roasted peanut, milk chocolate, molasses, light oak, and toffee
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a hot beer. Finishes mostly dry with a boozy tingle
This is good all around. A tad boozy but that’s expected

16oz can from Tavour. Dark brown pour, nearly flat. Aroma is orange peel, cherries, brown sugar, bourbon. Warmth hits instantly, taste is sweet sugary, candied orange peel, maraschino. Barely detectable roast malts lurk in the background.

Poured from tap at the brewery's tasting room, the body was an opaque brown. Not much head and no lacing.
The body is a sweet malty ale that nails the bitters flavor without overdoing it. According to the bartender, the beer was briefly aged in angostura barrels. No sign of the 12%. Super easy drinking.
Coating mouthfeel, but minimal carbonation resembling a cocktail. I'd prefer more carbonation.
Overall a nice attempt but despite the 12% it needs a bourbon or rye element to pull off the imitation. A barrel aged version of this beer might be great.

Turbid burnt brown with a short khaki head that disappears suddenly but stealthily.
I definitely get orange peel and bitters, but also plenty of semisweet caramels with accents of spices, like cinnamon and even gingersnap, all before exhaling some warmth.
The medium body has a fairly smooth feel with a fine carbonation while finishing nearly paper dry.
It really comes together well, but I still get Christmas ale vibes that are hard to shake, though it's certainly a lot less intense relative to Frosted Frog.
