Copper color. Thin, off-white head. Pumpkin spices, malt, and whiskey are in the aroma. The same notes follow into a moderately sweet, malty taste. Well done.

Hoppin’ Frog Rocky Mountain Barrel Aged Frog’s Hollow Double Pumpkin Ale
Aged in Whiskey barrels.
Best by 10 11 2025 stamped on bottom of can. #587 also stamped on bottom of 16 oz. can that I bought at the Brewery about a year ago.
Poured into a clean, clear glass from the can.
A: Folks, this has a hell of an appearance. VERY murky, hazy dark butterscotch brown/orange body with a VERY brief head which disappeared within a few seconds. I love the look really for the style. 4.5
S: Lot of pumpkin, spices and the sweet goodness of the Whiskey already in the smell. Loving it. 4.5
T: All of what I picked up in the smell carries right into the taste. Additionally though, I pick up a rather caramel sweet goodness along with the heat of the whiskey and the significant pumpkin and spice presence. This is a big beer but it is very drinkable. 4.5
M: Rather flat feel but a thin syrupy goodness lingers for at least 2 minutes after last sip. There is near zero carbonation in this beer but I am sure that is due to many factors. One is the style which does not usually feature a lot of carbonation and I believe that the barrel aging also contributes to that reality. 3.5
Drinkability/Overall: No surprise that this is a great Barrel Aged beer from Hoppin’ Frog, one of my favorite breweries. It was an honor to taste this tonight. I certainly recommend it. 4.5
