Popular rate at our tasting. Bourbon forward also Corny bourbon. Syrupy. It was fairly medium for the style, but must impress those who want an IS edgier than average.

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells very strongly of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and lots of spicy whiskey.
This definitely has sort of that classic Jack Daniels cheap, but strong and tasty whiskey character – molasses, oak, and vanilla. There’s tons of roasted malt and lots of dark chocolate too.
This is medium bodied, not super thick, with a nice spicy dryness on the finish.
I’ve liked pretty much every variant of this beer that I’ve had – it takes extremely well to barrel aging.

Mild pour, dark. Nose is most boozy barrel. Taste is mostly boozy but there’s a bit of sweet roasted malt on the undercurrent. Medium bodied, bit of a mouth watering finish, boozy. Good because the barrel plays well with the oatmeal stout characteristics, but I was expecting more from the barrel.

Glossy black with a short but impressively persistent dark tan head clinging in a slanted ridge on the glass.
I actually get chocolate covered banana right up front, which tracks with the characteristics I often get out of single barrel Jack Daniels bottles. Peppery whiskey follows, while the peanutty BORIS supports, all without the hefty piney bitter punch that sometimes comes with it. A little smoky, ashy tobacco comes out in the exhale.
