Half-litre bottle bought at the brewery: poured into a UK pint sleeve on 13 Jun 2013.
No sediment left the bottle: Ruby red to deep brown in colour with a good and lasting head of creamy foam.
The nose was a mixed bag of sour fruit, burnt coffee and dark chocolate notes.
The taste was also a strange mixture of flavours: all the stuff mentioned in the aromas (sour fruit,burnt coffee and dark chocolate) with a smoky undertone and some nutty features. I found hints of root liquorice in the taste too. So fairly complex and interesting.
Body feel suits the alcohol level and character of the brew: all in all a very pleasant bottle of beer.
