On tap at Bruery Copperversary. Great nose. Not much clue that its an American Barleywine due to the nose being predominantly Bourbon barrel, albeit not over the top. But in the mouth, pure bliss. The malt brings a melange of caramel, brown sugar, and slight char. The bourbon comes through beautifully. It really takes the front seat, but by no means overwhelms the malt profile. A true marriage. The finish is the same with the Bourbon most present. Mouthfeel is on the thinner side.
Overall, I really loved this one.

On tap at the 2014 Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest held at the Paso Robles Event Center in Paso Robles, CA.

Pours a murky dark orange-brown with a foamy beige head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of malt, brown sugar, caramel, toffee, bourbon, and wood aromas. Taste is much the same with brown sugar, toffee, and citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with really nice barrel aged qualities all around.
