Appearance- It looks a lot like an IPA sort of orange amber. There was not much for head or lace but the weird thing about that was the there is lots of carbonation bubbles.
Smell- It smells like an in fusion of grain and berries. The fruit you can smell from a mile a way but as you get up close it smells like stale bread.
Taste- Very bitter and sour the berry taste only really comes thru in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Thin.
Drinkability- Decent but not great an alright once and a while beer.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into shaker pint glass.
A: Very pale yellow with thin white head that quickly dissipates. Very similar in appearance to the Mandarin Hefe of theirs I just had. Ordinary.
S: Very nice huckleberry aroma. Hint of honey in the background. Not much else here though.
T: Watery, but still a nice huckleberry flavor. Mild hops, hint of honey. Pretty straight forward, but not bad.
M: Decent mouthfeel. Light body. Taste is quickly gone.
D: A watery beer, but still a decently drinkable refreshing fruit beer. Above average, but nothing to write home about. Straight forward...little complexity.

06/20/08- Consumed on my two week Montana vacation.
Presentation- 12oz bottle with a bottled on date stip on the label. Poured into my Duvel tulip.
Appearance- Light golden almost champagne looking pour. About a 1/2 inch quickly fading head with brisk carbonation bubbles. Leaves slight lace marking.
Smell- Lightly stinky almost lambic like nose with a bit of barnyard, honey and a funky berry nose.
Taste- Confused and really even more confused after talking to the brewery. Bought my first bottle which was in code at the beginning of the first week of my vacation. This beer tastes very much like a gueuze. Woderfully tart, a nice fresh berry flavor and just the slightlest taste of honey to give it a slight sweetness. I called the brewery to find out where they distribute the beer in Billings and they weren't much help. Anyway, I told them I loved the beer and asked them if it was a Guezue. A what?, they replied. Anyway, they claimed the beer was supposed to have no tartness and was supposed to be very sweet with a large honey flavor and a light berry flavor. They assumed I bought a lightstuck beer and that was that. Well I found two more six packs at different locations and tried them both and the same exact thing. Either that made a masterpiece beer by mistake, or I got 3 different lightstruck 6 packs at 3 different places (all different batches by the way as well).
Mouthfeel- Tart aftertaste with a brisk, champagne like stinging carbonation level.
Drinkability- Damn I love this beer, whatever it is. A great hot weather beer.

Thanks to Jeremy for supplying a single bottle of this rare beverage (at least in my part of the country).
The name of this beer sure is captivating; one can't help but wonder how these flavors will mesh, and how the beer will turn out overall. Even though I've found very few Fruit/Vegetable beers that make me go "Ah!", I'm very willing to give any new attempt a shot.
Pouring a golden yellow into a standard pint glass, a near-white foam about one-half a finger forms on top, and then dissipates rather quickly. It was totally gone within a few minutes and no bubbles appeared afterwards. Aromas of berries (huckleberries, I assume), light malts, floral hops and just the hint of honey waft up from the brew as several deep sniffs are taken. It's a pleasant aroma, overall. A tart but light sweetness attacks the front of the tongue; this is followed by a more "pale ale" style middle, only with the addition of the "essence" of dried fruit and honey. I say "essence" because, like so many Fruit/Vegetable beers, the sweet, dark fruit flavors aren't present. What one gets instead is a dry fruit flavor minus the sugary sweetness. I find it nice, but not particularly fascinating. The finish is lightly hoppy, and a bready, biscuit-like element fills the aftertaste, along with that berry essence.
It's a little heavy on the carbonation for my taste. The light-to-medium body makes it easy drinking for a nice light drink, especially on a nice autumn afternoon.

On tap at a local lounge, served in a pint glass.
Pours a pale gold color and is slightly hazy. A creamy thin white head forms, and leaves some sticky lace on the glass.
The smell is sweet and sugary, with a lot of huckleberry aroma. It's a strong smell, but rather one dimensional. Some sort of fragrance from the hops would be good.
The taste is candy-like, with a strong berry flavor and a little hop flavor along side. It tastes a little like flavored pancake syrup at iHop.
Mouth feel is light and a little watery.
This is very drinkable for a fruit beer. It's sessionable, and would be good in the summer on a hot day. But as sweet as it is, I wouldn't want to drink a bunch of it.

12oz bottle from Bottleworks in Wallingford, WA.
look: clear like a lager, large head fo medium white bubbles.
smell: like a honey wine, sweet scented and floral, but not like hops
taste: it's tasty, It is much better than i woudl have imagined... light like a beer, but sweet and fruitty liek a mead. aftertaste is sweet but distinctly beerlike, like a clean lager griny flavor + honey sweetness.
very drinkable, i'm quite impressed with this.

This definitely is not a syrupy sweet fruit beer. I found it to be crisp, nicely balanced fruit flavors/sweetnes and acidity. Looks a lot like a macro beer but is a nice change of pace. The huckleberry flavor is not too pronounced, I actually would like to try a batch with 2X the huckleberry flavor. Drink it ice cold on a picnic.

Picked up a 6 pack on our recent trip to Montana.
A malt beverage with natural flavours added. Label has a cartoon like drawing of a bear sitting in a huckleberry bush enjoying a pint while honeybees buzz around. For freshest flavour purchase before month notched label. Deep honey colored, not yellow, almost some pink overtones. Smell some sweetness, plus some sour from the huckleberry. Fruity aroma rather than grain lager smell. Taste more fruit, leaves a cherry syrup flavour clinging in the aftertaste. Sweet but not overly cloying. Crisp with bubbles of carbonation, and tangy mouth feel. Nice example of a fruit beer.

Hazed straw hue. Lean, but persistent ivory white head leaves meager foam trails. Sugary, syrupy aroma akin to cassis concentrate combined with vapid bready malt. Suggestions of berry flavored marzipan surface as the beer warms. Not impressive or appetizing aromawise. In flavor prevalent is berry extract flavor, with a tart wheat tinge. There is no substantial malt backbone, thus leaving the flavor profile one dimensional. Woody and floral undertones from perhaps the hop flavor and honey combination. Thin, watery mouthfeel. Well attenuated perhaps partially due to the high fermentability of honey. Devoid of esters and nearly bereft of hop bitterness as well. Finishes parching, with fleeting hints of dry, lightly staled cracker and berry jam. Not a particularly well rounded fruit beer. Overbearing in fruit character, thin in body and lacking in malt presence. Skippable, indeed.

Poured a clear light blond in color. Thin layer of white head that dies off quickly. Aromas are of fruit candy. Very different. Flavor is also sweet, mixed with some grainy husky undertow. Thin on the mouthfeel and not very drinkable. Best when consumed ice cold.

Smelled like amonia or some sort of house cleaning product. The underlying tastes (honey and huckleberry) were ok but didn't complement each other very well. I could not take more than a few tastes before getting rid of it, so my description of mouthfeel and appearance may be off. Would I give this another try? Maybe. But not before trying everything else in the area.
