Appearance: Pours a slightly clouded medium orange color with a strong white head. SRM of 8. (4.00)
Aroma: Strong aromas of rich bread and yeast. Smooth. (3.75)
Flavor: Strong flavors of rich bread, yeast, some cloying honey and malt flavors off the end. (3.00)
Feell: Heavier-bodied, strong carbonation. Astringent and cloying (3.25)
Compared to Bahaus Wonderstuff: Pours darker, milder aromas. More cloying rich bread and malt. Less citrus, bitterness. Winner: Wonderstuff
Overall: Not the best reviews and I see why. Rich bread, but cloying malt and honey flavor that is not right. Would not grab this again.

My brother drove me out to the liq store and this caught my eye. Brau bros is good and there's not too many craft pilsners, still. When is that gonna be the trend?!
Pours clear, looking like movie beer, except for the few chunks floating around the bottom. Smells like honey, wheat, and a tiny bit of hops. The scent is GREAT. Smooth and heavy on the wheat, It tastes more sweet and wheaty than crisp and hoppy

From the Micro-brew Club and again their screening impresses me.
But anytime I get a malty pils, I'm more likely to be impressed... And Thresher is a malty pils (which helps explain its low ratings on BA and how I am above average.)
Thresher Looks brilliantly golden when poured into a pils glass, but the foam fades faster than I like. Smells are average, mostly malt and barely a hint of hops (I more like their aroma than flavors.) Thresher Tastes balanced; like a malt-head's delight, but just enough hops to make me know that lagers can be made right again. Light in attack, but medium-mouthed in the finish.
As for my micro-review of Brau Bros, they are typical in many ways of what I call the Third Generation of North American crafters (usually opened in the first decade of this Century.) Thresher is in a small town market that they could dominate; satisfying the community with quality beers in two traditions while developing a decent food menu over time. And then, Brau Bros stuck to that formula, not ambitious in their growth. Braus apparently caught the attention of the buds of the Micro-Brew Club and I ended up with a lager that I never would found otherwise. Glad that all this serendipity happened.

Appearance: Pours a near clear, yellow-hued body with an inch of white, bubbly foam.
Smell: Scantly bready, like a whiff of hoagie roll crust, some neutral grain notes and a tiny heap of caster sugar dosed with a few drops of lactic acid.
Taste: Faintly grainy, bready, but then it swings a bit sweet with a noted twang of acid maltz. Some light hints of hops, maybe a little fruit, a little citrus, but that's about it. Not much bitterness coming through. Remains a bit sweet through its finish with a little rebound of altogether basic breadiness.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Instead of reaching for the pilsner appellation, I would've been just fine with them calling it something a bit more open, a bit more honest, like: Thresher - Just an Easy-Going, No-Thrills Lager. And while it doesn't excel to any great, lofty heights, it's just a simple bottle of suds, which is a fine enough thing, indeed.

From Marshall, Minnesota comes 3 Brau Brothers Thresher Bohemia style pilsner. It pours a hazy straw gold with a white head. There's a little bit of a malt note on the nose but nothing particularly strong. I best describe the taste as round, like I have trouble getting my tongue on the taste. It's not bitter and it's not overly sweet but the malt is not immediately identifiable. I don't know if that's the grain or yeast they used, but I'm not a fan.

a: pale straw yellow color with some burnt yellow notes. very bright 2 finger frothy white head
s: sweet grains, sweet lemon, lemongrass. hay, grass, and some pepper spice. touch of that generic lager spice note as well
t: some earthy bitterness and raw wort. sweet grains and grass with a medicinal flavor as well that i'm thinking reminds me of yeast whose temperature got too high during fermentation
m: light-medium mouthfeel with high carbonation
o: this one just isn't there. not trying to be negative, but it tastes like poor homebrew. mouthfeel is good. aroma not great and appearance too dark

Looks like a pilsner should look, especially that of Minnesota. Wheat colored, see-through golden liquid that gets darker as you get closer.
Smells like a pilsner should, but a little stronger. It smells like wheat, but with malt attached as well. It also smells fresh, like a greenhouse. A relatively intriguing effect on the nostrils. Simple yet aromatic and pleasing, it sniffs better than a "run-of-the-mill" pilsner (get it?)
Tastes a little heavy and complex for this style of beer, which is a positive for me. It is refreshing but keeps you guessing. I get a hint of smokiness, but from where I have no idea. Has fresh, garden-like attributes, which provides a subtle juxtaposition to the malt and smokiness. Definitely a "craft pilsner", it's light and sessionable, but not boring. These are the traits of a summer/autumn beer.
Mouth feel was to be expected. Thin and light bodied, like most other pilsners and lagers you've tried. It is a "comfort beer" in this sense.
I would recommend this to any light beer fan. It's affordable, easy to drink, and the formula works. The malty aspects were very noticeable and equally unexpected. Instead of a regular domestic brew, give this a shot.

Pours a clear, lighter golden color. The head is 1 finger and frothy. Retention is good.
The nose is a sweet and malty aroma. It is almost fruity.
Taste is a crisp flavor. Not too sweet. Malty.
The body is what would expect. There is some carbonation in the feel.
Not a bad beer at all.
