working on my cellar. been eyeing this one for apperently 2 years. thanks to ba barry for this one
ugly label, but you can't judge a beer by its label.
poured into a perfect stout glass. this guy is uugly, uglier than the label. dark foggy brown. murky brown. like a cup of pond water
the nose is a 180! muted at first but with the whirl the glass a beautiful bouquet of quad and whiskey. dark fruits and great quad base. candi sugar and belgian yeast.
flavor packs a punch! tons of dark fruit, whiskey barrel than belgian yeast and more barrel. finished sweet with some apple and slight tart. like a barrel tart. wonder if it was there fresh
body is medium thick, well carbed and slick.
overall it took me a bit to warm up to, but a 750 really allows me to work through a beer. it grew on me quickly. a very enjoyable beer. i wish i got to it a bit more fresh. thanks for the beer babary!

Purchased in Dec. 2010.
Upon pouring, a white foamy head that quickly disappears into just a little lacing. Notes of bourbon and fruit in the nose.
Mouthfeel is medium-thin, but about right for the style. Dark, fruity malt with a hint of sour cherries--the sour note is complemented nicely by the bourbon. Pleasant, lingering finish.
At first the bourbon flavors seemed a tad strong, but after a few sips it felt more balanced. This one had aged at least five years in the bottle, and it was appropriately smoothed and mellowed. This was my first BB-aged quad, and I have to say it's an interesting combination. I'd enjoy tasting the base beer on its own...maybe the Brau Bros will release it some day.

Very nice beer to drink. Heavy booze flavor with a creamy smooth feel in the mouth. Top notch in my opinion.

Really well done, I'd never heard of this brewery before but their beer was on point.
Boozy and sweet, great head retention, mouthfeel was really nice, creamy and the booze was there, especially as it warmed down. Overall, a fantastic beer for an extra, that is always nice.

A Cloudy red hue with a thin but steady, creamy head; really nice lacing
S: Lots of bourbon and oak character with dark fruits, cherries, vanilla, brown sugar lingering beneath
T: Complex fruit flavors, bourbon, oak, booze; the flavors become more evident as the beer warms
F: Medium body and creamy--a bit thin in the finish
O: This is a big, boozy beer and I like it--oaky, bourbony, malty, fruity--this is tasty
