I've shied away from sours the past couple of years but I've been getting burned out on IPA's so I'm looking to really sit down and try these. If they are all like this one then I have been missing out! Gorgeous copper color with not much head. The smell according to my wife (who has sinus problems at the moment) can be picked up 5' away. Let it warm up to 50 degrees according to the bottle instructions. Wow, this is blowing my socks off with the tartness but not that Sweettart fake tartness. Nice carbonation which I enjoy. Great job from 3 Barrel Brewing - will be attempting to trade for more of their product very soon.

My only regret is not buying more. This beer is incredibly sour and has wonderful flavor. Very consecration reminiscent. A bit pricey at 12 bucks, but will knock your socks off sour.

a 12.7 ounce bottle picked up in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. The bottle has one of the toughest wax tops to remove that I've ever dealt with.

The beer pours a pretty amber/copper color, but has almost no head at all, which is discouraging.

The smell is deeply herbal, with hints of rosemary, sagebrush, grass, and some orange peel. The sour yeastiness hits the nose eventually as well. The taste is again, very herbal and earthy, very reminiscent of the high deserts of New Mexico. Sagebrush and other local spices hit the palate before a tart wheatiness, offering a complex offering that very few other beers can offer. This beer is truly like none I've ever had.

As far as it's drinkability, despite the lack of head, the beer is still decently carbonated and is smooth. The tartness is mouth-puckering, but not so much to make the beer difficult to sip. It is really quite easy-drinking.

I love this beer for its unique taste and will have to get much more on future visits to Colorado.
