Geek Version:
Dark bittersweet chocolate with Madagascar Vanilla Beans. Six pounds of the best dark chocolate added at the end of the boil. A unique blend of Noble Hops with a Saaz finish. Roasted malts; loads of Colorado Malting Co.'s own special Belgian Chocolate Malt. Complex and bold with a dark chocolate finish. A robust fermentation with a little hint of London old-world flavor.
Translation:
A burst of dark chocolate flavors melding with hints of vanilla ice cream. A bold take on an old ale (Porter), having its roots in the smoky industrial capitals of Europe in the mid-1800s. Interesting dark beer; not too much alcohol, but a lot of flavors to take in.

Poured from a 12oz can
Look is a bit disappointing, headless. Some. Arbonayion coming up but no head retention. The color is pitch black, no light gets through.
Smell is of dark fruits and some roastt malts but mostly they funky fruity fermentation. Maybe some cocoa on the nose, but not very sweet.
Taste follows the nose almost to a tee but with a bit more dryness and acidity. Slight fermentation funk, but it plays into the dark beer decently. Not bitterness or hops detected, except for some bitter chocolate notes but it's not all that substantial mixed onto all the malts.
Feel is a bit chewy but a bit heavy relatively adjuncted up though and it comes through interesting mouthfeel. Carbonation has a slight bite which is good but its definitely a bed time beer.
Overall it's alright and an interesting take on a porter. Pastry beers aren't my favorite, but it could also look better and it could be a bit cleaner but it isn't bad.

Look: Rich, opaque dark brown with medium tank/graham cracker colored head, not very long lasting but lacing lingered
Smell: Strong, chocolatey, brownie or cookie smell, malt bill, almost coconut-y vanilla
Taste: Intense, like a very rich brownie, no noticeable hops, sweet
Feel: Thicker body, slightly creamy, very soft carbonation that's pleasant and goes with the style nicely
Overall: Good porter, more like a desert than anything, wouldn't seek out but wouldn't hesitate to get another!

The D-Ort Porter was shared by my neighbor across the street. It poured an opaque black with tan head that is leaving a modest lace. The scent had vanilla with hints of chocolate. The taste was slightly sweet with vanilla, chocolate and hints of roast. The Mouthfeel is medium in body with smooth carbonation. Overall this is a great beer.
