Locally sourced malted barley grown in the San Luis Valley, and 10 pounds of Haefeli’s Honey. Medium alcohol level, slight sweet honey and toasted flavors to accent the beer’s brown notes.

An opaque dark brown beer that has a decent head that's fades to a light haze of bubbles floating on the top. Has decent lacing but not the best.
The smell is of dark grain and light herbal earthy hops with a funkiness to it. Behind the funk is a vanilla like sweetness. Maybe a hint of figs.
On the flavor the funk is strong but it's not a tart funkiness but a fruity dark funkiness with a bitterness and hints of honey behind it although it is quite dry. I presume this funk is from the yeasts.
The feel is actually quite warming and nice. Not one for the summer so much but a nice fireside warmer in my opinion. Relatively rich.
Overall very flavorful, might be a bit polarizing but quite good for winter if your not into what seems to be a coming trend of "winter IPAs" this is dark and sweet and definitely something that you could put in a beer mug by the fireside.
