On tap at the brewpub poured into an English pint glass. Pours a hazy dark amber. Floral and herbal with spicy peppercorns and yeast on the nose. The flavor is really well done as far as the spicing goes, very subtle and leaves the focus on the malt/yeast profile. Hearty wheat with some lighter dark malt blend with the spices to create a pretty tasty brew. Finishes with a spike of alcohol and more fluffy earthy yeast. A little fuller bodied than most Saisons with nice fizzy active carbonation. Overall a pretty nice take on a Saison.

A - Reddish body with some copper hues around the edges. White head that is fizzy then subsides to some nice lacing. Appears much darker than other Saisons I've had, hence the lower score in my mind.

S - Surprisingly citrusy but still has that nice barnyard funk in there in the tail end. Grapefruity and some sweet alcoholic esters.

T&M - Moderate-high carbonation makes this pleasant to drink. Smooth and creamy. I taste more malts than expected at first, then the grapefruit comes in. Not bitter grapefruit but sweet. Unlink any saison I've had. Funky in the backround with that wet hay and horse blanket pushing through. A bit too sweet for a saison in my opinion.

D - Nice to drink on a nice warm day. Perhaps a little to sweet to have much more than two.
