Appearance: Served up a viciously cloudy, light brown body looking appropriately like a sweet potato. Frothy, long lasting, beige head.
Smell: Foremost in the nose is the rich spice blend smelling of cinnamon, nutmeg, and a minor hint of ginger. This goes well with the scent of oven-toasted sweet potatoes and lesser notes of toasty malts and caramel.
Taste: Toasted malts with a touch of sweet light caramel and right away a bright 'POP' of earthy spices. Ah, and there's a true taste of sweet potatoes. It's always nice to have a special ingredient that comes across clean and clear with no questions asked. Then, in comes a medium amount of bitterness to pair with the spiciness. Finishes bitter and still quite spicy.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: This one's both interesting and enjoyable. Hopefully, Mocassin Bend will revisit this one come Autumn.
