Very nicely done, light, refreshing fruit beer tried on tap at Atwater Brewery in Grand Rapids. Pours a nice deep amber color with a hint of orange (almost burnt sienna) color. Just a little head and very scant spotty lingering lacing. Smells of nice raspberry and malt, but not overpowering. Tastes similarly, but also well-balanced with a little bitterness and tartness with some nice notes of caramel and vanilla. Perfect amount of sweetness without being cloying - so many of these fruit beers can accidentally end up tasting like cough syrup. Smooth mild slightly creamy mouthfeel, perfect carbonation. A very enjoyable beer - reminds me very vaguely of Founders’ Rubaeus, except with flavors that are more subtle.
