Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a hazy copper color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of cherries, some very light wheat. Taste is really mild, cherries and wheat but subdued. Feels watery in the mouth and overall is mediocre at best. I have had some good beers from Atwater but this ain't one.

Muddy copper-brown with a mild, fizzy off-white head settling to a fuzzy collar.
The wheat makes the smell of this a little funky--it almost smells like wet hay and soggy cheerios, with a hint of acidic red fruit far in the background. Sometimes I get black olive--definitely not a good start.
Taste is less weird and kind of nice. Toasted wheat leads the way, and almost turns into a sort of corn bread. In the finish is cherry and it's a very nice, sweet, slightly tart natural cherry flavor. It tastes like fresh, mild cherry--nothing artificial, weird, or medicinal about it.
Body is given some unexpected heft from the wheat with a crisp fizz and semi-dry finish.

Deep amber/reddish color with a head that mostly dissipated but good lacing. A good bit of cherry on the nose. As for the taste, the tart cherry is there instantly and doesn't go away. It's okay, but a bit too much cherry for my liking.

Mine poured very, very foamy. Judging from the other reviews I must have gotten a bad six pack. A definite cherry flavor. Sweet up front with a tart finish.

12 oz
Pours a mostly clear amber, bit of white lacing for a head.
Smells of tart cherry juice, citrus, and biscuit malt.
Tastes of dry cracker and stale biscuit malt, hints of citrus and grassy notes. Finishes with a light cherry tartness, very mild.
Light to medium body with tingles of carbonation.
Average ale, slightly stale flavor but nothing too bad. Decent body. Works well in warm weather. Not bad but not anything special.

From a 12 oz bottle in a snifter via a friend from work---Thanks Randy!
This nice little refreshing brew pours a deep red tinged amber with a
moderate head of off white foam that settles to a thick ring, thin pool, and
light lacing. Nose of tart pie cherries and grainy wheat...a pretty subdued
nose. Flavors exceed the nose with lightly tart pie cherries and soft wheat
on all sides with a subtle bitterness on the back from the hops. Overall nice
mouth feel, thirst quenching (today it is darn hot and this hit the spot) with
medium prickly carbonation and a tart cherry aftertaste with a touch of grains.
Not too shabby, and WAY better than one brewed named after a patriot.
Cheers

From a 12 oz bottle.
Looks nice with a deep Amber body topped by a good head, but the aroma and flavor disappoint. Some cherry is evident but it's subtle and accompanied by more bitterness than tartness.
Medium body and near medium carbonation.

Michigan is one of my favorite states to buy beer in and this one is no exception. It's great in the summer, but I saved one for winter, when it's just as good. The cherries taste bitter and the beer has a very strong distinctive flavor. Cherry and strong wheat make a great combo. Tastes darker than it appears.
