A wonderful weekend in Atlanta led me to spend two days within waling distance of this fine pub. Getting to try everything they had was an adventure, but was easily accomplished. Consumed on 07/24/09 and 07/25/09.

Appearance - Decent pour, nothing really mind blowing here though. Amber in color and very clear. Nice carbonation with a thin white head on the top of it. Faded quickly and left behind really nothing more then a broken crown.

Smell - Nice hops here. Citrus and pine, hints of bready malts underneath and a nice shot of grain. Warming seems to lessen the hops a bit but provides a bit more balance overall.

Taste - Crisp and clean. Light with a nice bite at the front. Nice touches of orange and pineapple at first which fade into a grainy mid profile and a light touch of bitterness kicks in at the very end before falling back down to earth.

Feel - Very nice medium to light body, well carbonated and not too slick. Nice overall and well put together.

Drinkability - A quick and easy smooth drinker, nothing outrageous here at all. I could put down a couple.

Overall - Not bad, nothing really making it great but cannot really come up with anything bad to say.

Appearance: Hazy, dark copper body with a small, ivory-colored head.

Smell: Malts smelling lightly of cracked English toffee and dry biscuits enveloped by a grassy hop character.

Taste: English-minded maltiness with a hint of toffee and less than a hint of sweetness. Takes on a more biscuity quality upon warming. Grassy, earthy hops with a medium bitterness. Finishes decidedly bitter.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-low carbonation.

Drinkability: I've had different renditions of the BR-549 Pale Ale, and, for me, I must admit I preferred the more maltier, somewhat sweeter versions we saw early on.

On-tap into pint glass.

Hazy copper hue with a light tan one finger head. Stringy lacing. Sharp and fruity hop aromas with citrusy pineapple. Slightly sweet malts with a little bit of toasty caramel. The hops are sharp with a strong citrus flavor. Full bodied. The hops linger for a bit after each sip.

A very good Pale Ale with very good hop flavors and aromas. Recommended.
