A: half finger head on a clear amber with golden hues body.
S: almost totally sweet caramel malts and little else.
T: very simple with caramel malt and some orange peel notes but lacks the malt backbone and peat of a scotch ale.
M: medium body and light carbonation.
Overall: disappointing. Not very par for the style. Goo and drinkable but not a good one for te style.

After dinner beer while on the move for work.
Pour is in a curvy glass, looks like a 10 oz. pour but didn't both to ask. Dark red, close to still. Not much in the way of aroma coming off the surface of this one.
Scotch McAle is a textbook scotch ale. Seige engines of caramel roll onto the tongue & masks almost everything else. There's a sugary sweet mid-section & a faint Belgianesque squirt on the finish, before the Caramel Squares take over again. One smallish glass of this heavy beer was enough.
Good, solid scotch ale that represents the style nicely.

Appearance: Hazed, amber-hued body with, well, no head.
Smell: Caramelized sugars over well-toasted malts rounded with a little fruit and small sniff of booze.
Taste: Sugar encrusted toasted bread crusts with a moderate edge of caramel to it. Sufficiently sweet. Slight, fruity accents of sultanas and candied orange peel. Low herbal hop tone, though no real apparent bitterness. Is big and sweet enough to feel like a glass of sweet Southern iced tea at times. Sweet, malty, faintly fruity finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-full body. Medium-low carbonation.
Overall: It's big, it's malty, and oh-so sweet.
