Pours a nice dark, cloudy Amber with ample head that lingers. Slightly flat on the nose but it's made up for in a spicy body with hints of allspice and pepper. My one hangup is that it's quite sour. I want more spice and less sourness from a "hardy winter beer" that tours spices as the main attraction. Overall, solid and I'd drink it again but there are better spicy winter alea.

New edition of this winter beer ( best before is 15/09/19 ) bought oct 2017 in a mix pack
Pours golden copper with a reddish tint. White head disappears quite quickly. No lacing.
There is a nice mouth feel due to the malts and barley and the cranberries add enough sourness to lighten the alcohol and add a fruity tang. Very little carbonation. This edition has no vegetable overtones. It is nice enough but lacks in the spice department. It has more flavor as it warms up.

660 ml brown bottle.
A- Very cloudy (like a pulpy fruit juice) from the yeast. Barely any head. Dried apricot colour (light orange/brown).
S- Cranberries. Slightly off note, as if the berries had started to go bad. Not much else. Faint.
T- Acid cranberries. Hint of strange atomatics, floral and maybe some juniper. Touch of dusty yeast. Very little malt or hops flavours. Not mcu of the spice you would expect in a winter beer, except maybe a hint of cloves.
MF- Fizzy thin texture. Leaves an acid feeling at the back of the throat (sort of bile like).
D- Actually drinkable, but just barely. Won't be going back to this one.

Bottle:
Poured a hazy amber ale with light pink tinge to it in my glass. Two finger rocky cap reduced quickly...modest lacing.
Aroma was weird: The Cranberrys and some spice notes were there and so was the grain but there was an over powering vegital aroma like spoiled celery..weird
Some malty sweeness starts out but is quickly balanced by tart cranberry tones, no hops seem present...sour and overpowered with the spoiled veggie tastes.
I suspect I got a spoiled/over date sample...I will revisit this beer in the winter when I go to Montreal.

Surprisingly drinkable beer with juice. Pinkish tinge to yellow beer, looks better than it sounds. Faint cranberry and other juice aroma. On tart side, but malted down. Served up at Beer Bistro. Worth trying once, barley and cranberries. Told its more smooth than the bottled version.

Bottle: Poured a red beer with a bubbly head that disappeared a tad too fast. Aroma is quite spicy with some sweetness in the mix. Carbonation is really good and body is medium, which is quite convenient for fruit beer. The ginger taste is quite powerful (does taste like real ginger as opposed to some flavoured ginger taste) with the sweetness from the cranberry balancing things out. Overall, this is a very refreshing beer and probably a bit underrated. I had this beer about two years ago and I see some major improvement with those products recently.
