Just found this one locally, and I do love a Radler. This one is no exception; pours very effervescent with a pale-straw body reminiscent of an over-carbed pilsner. The lemon and malt body create an expected marriage that is simple but enjoyable and crushable. There seems to be a touch of caramel or bready sweetness in it that I'd rather not encounter in a Shandy, but overall, it's exactly what I expected.

16oz can. Poured out a cloudy, straw yellow color with a small, fizzy, white head of foam. It left minimal lacing on the glass. It smelled of lemon, citrus and caramel taste. Sweet fruity taste with lots of tart lemon and a touch of caramel. Minimal bitterness.

Privatbrauerei Gaffel Becker & Co. “Gaffel Lemon”
,5L can coded “08.07.2022 LA012” and sampled on 27.09.21
€1,09 @ REWE CITY, Hohe Str. 30a, Köln, DE
This Radner is just 2.0% alcohol by volume, and very sweet. It’s more of a lemon soda than a beer with lemon, and not surprisingly that ties in with two of their newer beers. Maybe they’re counting on lemon being the new thing… ? It’s got the body and feel of a soda pop with a little bit of a lighter carbonation, and its just as sweet. It’s easy to drink but given that the calories are about the same I’m not sure why you’d bother with this at just 2.0% ABV. Additionally, it’s fairly expensive. Even at REWE it cost me €1,09 whereas I could have got a Gaffel Kölsch in the same size for €,89.

This beer pours like a a cloudy watered down beer, which is what it is, so no surprise there. No real head or retention and none expected.
Aroma is very pleasant nice soft lemon flavors and some soft aromas of baked bread almost. It very much reminds me of an Arnold Palmer.
Taste is same as the nose, nothing overly sweet or glaring. Just well balanced lemon and beer.
Mouthfeel is very light, pleasant moderate carbonation, and goes down like water. Super refreshing stuff, it has just enough acidity from the lemon.
I really liked this beer a lot, I don’t enjoy day drinking much but this is perfect for it at 2%. It is so balanced all around and incredibly drinkable and refreshing.
