this was my least favorite beer in the house here, all others were quite good, but this one got a little weird for me, being an american hopped beer, with an english malt heaviness, and i believe a german yeast strain. its a little too all over the map for me, although i like parts of it. i suspect we were near the bottom of the keg too, as the beer was super cloudy and yeast laden, odd for the style, it looks thick and real cloudy, not overly appealing. the smell is nice though, punchy citrusy fresh hops, really bright through the cloudy beer, but they just dont come through in the taste as well as in the nose, and the yeast makes this heavy and a little weird. not sweet though from all the crystal malt, not what i expected at all. definitely an unconventional take on an ipa, no mater what geographic region we are talking about. i thought this was the least successful beer at this place, needs a little reworking i think.
