Nose has muted smoke, with some burnt caramel notes whereas taste is more smoke-forward than accordingly anticipated.

Dark dark brown with honey highligts. tow inches of beige head formed by big bubbles. A bit of fine carbonation visibile at the surface. Good lacing but low retention. The head was the last thing left in the glass.
Lots of smoke in the aroma. Beechwood. Sharp.
Mild taste at the front of the mouth. A bit nutty. Very slightly sweet. Then at the back of the palette the taste is woody and smoky. A chaulky tart bitter aftertaste.
Medium on the heavy side. Nice fresh carbonation.
This smoke ale was good. I enjoyed it but it was a bit too smoky for me. Needs some malty sweetness to balance of the smoke. I drank this back to back with Aecht Schlenferla Rauchbier for comparison.

Bottle: Poured a light amber color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light smoke with some light cereal notes is quite pleasant. Taste is also dominated by light smoked with some clean cereal notes with light grainy notes. Light caramel malt is also noticeable. Body is about average with good carbonation. Good entry level beer for people who are not sued to smoked malt.

Pours a very dark reddish brown with a two finger head. This one is almost opaque. Not getting much from the smell but a wood fire smoke. It seems to be offset with some sweetness. A predominately caramel sweetness accompanied by smoke and earthiness. Quite smoky, to the extend that it starts to mask other flavours especially in the finish. Despite that it's very drinkable and has a very nice light to medium mouthfeel.
