This is the Gordon Biersch/Smarthmouth collaboration beer which is actually an Imperial Pale Lager (IPL) but I can't seem to find that style listed under American lagers when adding this beer.
Poured a copper brown, straddling dark brown, with good two finger offwhite head that died slow. Aroma is mix of grainy pils malt dryness, one could say bread or cracker, and dry hops. An alright beer but the extra hops in this don't really seem to come out. Basically, an average lager with mostly a dry feel and taste with minimal sweetness and a medium body that passes easy over tongue. Hops do add some bitter citric dryness and crispness at times and lead to a really dry finish (at times a little harsh). An enjoyable beer but not one that stands out.
