Bottled June 2015.

Pours a wonderfully hazy orange/lemonade colored body with thin head. Large sweet orange flavor with a very low carbonation. Refreshing but would have liked some more spices present.

Bottled March 2013

Beer is golden in colour, Almost no head. I have some concern that the bottle was not well carbonated, or has lost some of it.

Coriander and orange. Wheat, yeast.

Taste contains coriander and orange pretty upfront, along with the bubblegum like flavour of Belgian yeast. Crisp wheat and some lemon. Classic, not exciting but nice.

Medium bodied, very low carbonation. Oddly low, but still nice.

Served from a 750ml bottle to a shaker

A: The epitome of a witbier. Very cloudy white straw color topped with one to 1.5 fingers of head. Lacing was great as was lacing and retention was astounding.

S: Typical witbier aroma. Curacoa peel is there as is coriander.

T: Orange, coriander, and lemon is made present the palate. Belgian yeast character is also present and nicely done. Malts are doughy and provide a background to the spices and yeast profile.

M: Very crisp and refreshing.

O: A very good example of a witbier and nicely refreshing. I could see this pairing well with sushi.

750ml bottle poured into tulip 25/4/12 thanks papat444 for sending me this one

A cloudy pale golden yellow with enough clarity to see bubbles coming up the side of the glass but not visible deeper in the liquid, two fingers of foam lingers for a few moments leaving a few dots of lace, I gave the bottle a swirl before I poured but the second pours almost milky from the sediment

S lemon and cereal come out right away quickly followed by some spicy bubblegum and a little grapefruit flesh, smells like a decent Wit should

T orange and lemon with the same cereal I could smell and even more spice, tastes similar to the smell but stronger, perhaps its the yeasty second pour at this point but I'm loving it regardless

M a little tart but not sour, fairly light and quite refreshing with a yeasty lemon finish, just enough bubbles to keep it from feeling flat

O props for a 750ml that sinks faster then a stubby, my only regret is that I didn't drink this yesterday when it was hot and sunny

this one went down pretty fast and I couldn't help it, I can only imagine how many of these I'd slam under a hot sun. Blanch de Chambly has a little competition in Quebec, but not in Alberta unfortunately

Served from growler into a La Chouffe pilsner. Poured a hazy pale yellow with a two finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, banana, tart cherry, fruit, and tart. The flavor was of sweet malt, earth, banana, wheat, and subtle tart. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a good brew. The tart aspect on this one was quite the pleasant surprise. It really made me come back for more and more until the 22 oz counter pressure filled bottle was empty. Really wish I had at least a 32 oz growler of this one, but beggars can’t be choosers I suppose. Really refreshing with just a touch of dryness on the followthrough. Definitely a must try as I wish I had more of this myself.

hazy blond color with a huge foamy head rising up above the rim of the glass. Huge carbonation visible throughout the session as it really had a very big and lively look to it. The aroma was light grain and wheat, hints of banana and light clove notes along with a touch of spice in the nose as it starts to warm. Smooth, medium body had enough weight behind it to coat the tongue nicely. Light grain flavor gave way to nice light fruity notes and a good little prickly pepper like touch on the tip of the tongue that gave it a nice little pop. Alcohol was very well hidden and this led to a nice tight, little heavier wheat beer that was muh more drinkable

750ml Bottle

Appearance – Hazy dark yellow colour with an average size fizzy white coloured head. There is a below average amount of carbonation showing and there is some fairly good lacing. The head lasted for around 5 minutes before it was gone.

Smell - Grains/wheat, bananas, lemons, cloves/coriander

Taste & Mouth - The beer has an average amount of carbonation. I can taste breads/grains mixed with bananas and some lemon juice/zest. There is also a fair amount of clove/coriander spice flavour. It also has a bit of a white grape juice flavour.. giving it hints of the taste found in a triple. The beer finishes with a lemony spicy aftertaste.

Overall – An above average wit beer that I would be happy to drink again. I'm not sure how fresh my bottle was, but I'd definitely like to try this one on draft. So far I haven't been disappointed with Hopfenstarks beers.
