Bottle at one of the American release events @ Beer Table, Brooklyn. Day 2.
Pours cloudy orangey-straw, with a thin, soapy off-white head.
Nose is light, bretty with notes of green apple and some cereal grain. The oak seems to be coming through very lightly, though I'm getting it as a vinous white wine note. very nice, quite complex.
Taste is very lightly bretty up front, bright lemon and barnyard, with a musty cereal grain note coming out towards finish, as well as a nice grassy hop note. Finish is lingering, with the barnyard and grassy hops combining into a note that reminds me of cat pee. Odd.
Mouthfeel is light, crisp, nicely done.
Drinkability is hurt by the weird musty cereal/cat pee stuff going on. Be interested in trying the non-oaked version of this one.
