Poured into a chalice, the appearance was a nice looking bronzed copper color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a mild pace. Not much lace.
The aroma had some sweet red delicious apples, light Belgian sugars, some honey, grassy hop notes, and a little Belgian yeasty/breadiness.
The flavor was moderately sweet pulling in the grassy hop tones lightly for a sly balance. Aftertaste projected the sugars, honey and red delicious apples.
The mouthfeel was medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Alcohol "heat" was noted, but not distracting - acceptable yet expected "throatiness." Carbonation did feel good.
Overall, this was a pretty good Tripel that I would have again.

Poured a bit syrupy, lite cap and a wonderful braised gold color. The nose is caramel, sugar and honey.
The feel is a bit thin, with an alcohol bite. The finish is long and sweet.
The overall is interesting, certainly worth the effrot to find.

On-tap at Station Ho.St in Montreal

Beer is golden in colour, with a moderately-sized white head. Good retention, some lacing.

Nice smell. Malt heavy, sweet and bready. Honey. light fruits and yeast.

Taste is also quite malty. Honey and bread. Light fruits, including apple and banana, are present. Some spicy flavours. Booze is quite apparent in the finish. Fairly sweet, but finishes dry.

Full bodied, low to moderate carbonation. A bit heavy. Lots of heat from the alcohol.

Overall, not bad, but it has problems. The alcohol is too strong, and the beer is a bit sweet. However, there are some nice flavours happening here.

 

 

Poured on tap at Churchkey into a snifter 4 oz pour.

A great clear body color, nearly crystal clear shimmering gold and brass with a fluffy white head, with lots of staying power. Always leaves a solid puck in the glass.

Nice nose on this. Smelly pear and apple, mild sweetness no hint of alcohol with a soft malt body. Surprisngly doesn't come across like a strong beer is coming.

Palate hits with a subdued template. Faint sting at first which suprises with mellow sugar sweetness. Fruit character hints not so much from the nose but a nice soft grain to this. Light bodied with a good texture, and somehow giving some malt depthness to it.

Overall very different from most tripels I've had, but pleasurable in a very different way.

The beer pours a solid gold color with good head retention and lacing. The nose is very nice, with clove, honey, vanilla and light ginger. The flavor profile replicates the nose in this moderately sweet beer, though there's a hint of hoppy bitterness that helps to conter that sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a fairly long, lightly spicey finish. Alcohol is well integrated into the flavor profile, and considering the abv. in this beer, it's really quite drinkable.

While nothing extraordinary, this is pretty tasty stuff.

First had: on tap at Teresa's, Wayne, PA

Served in a pint glass, this beer poured a slight hazed golden yellow with a small fluff of head that receded to a fine layer of bubbles. Bready yeast and spice in the nose, sweet malts and hints of fruit. More of the same in the taste, bready, yeasty, peppery with light spice, notes of citrus, white wine, and mild floral hops. Seemed to bounce between a tripel and a saison. Slightly noticeable alcohol twinge. Finished dry with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Light bodied and quite drinkable; a pretty average tripel, and not at all a palate killer like some tend to be.
