Copenhagen 8/7 2019. 75 cl bottle from Best of Beers Web-shop. Brown label in cardboard style with the most fundamental information.

Pours unclear bordering on hazy, golden yellow with big white head. Settles as 1 cm thick layer of fluffy foam covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is intense, yeasty, sweetish but with sharp sour notes. Fermented apricots, peach. Herbs. Sharp, citric notes. Light humid basement odor.

Light carbonation. Thin, oily, greasy, slightly flat texture.

Flavor is medium sweet followed by a more moderate sourness. Aftertaste is sweetish. Lingers for a while. Semi-dry finish.

More of a Biére de Garde than a Belgian Pale Ale. Well made but a tad too sweet for me.

On tap at Station HO.ST. From notes.

A - Poured cloudy orange with a two finger fluffy white head. Good lace rings left over and a half finger of retention.

S - Orange, lemon, zesty lemon, grapes.

T - Grassy noble hop, orange, lemon, lovely light hoppiness. Crackers. Mild yeast character.

M - Nice carbonation, medium body, nice orange finish with some dryness.

O/D - Light but aggressive hoppy Belgian ale. Very nice stuff. Good hop character with nice Belgian qualities and easy drinking. Simple, but quite complex. Really enjoyed this one.

On-cask at Station Ho.St in Montreal.

Beer is a slightly cloudy dirty gold colour. A frothy off-white head on top.

Lots of light fruits in the nose. Tropical scents, as well as apple and other fruits that I would sooner expect in a Belgian Pale. Nice scent.

Taste contains light fruits, again with a tropical bent. Apple, pineapple, mango. However, the fruit flavours lack any brightness- they are dulled somewhat. Bready and yeasty flavours cut through. Some spices are present as well. A bit herbal. Quite bitter for the style.

Medium bodied, low natural carbonation. Cask is not the right treatment for this beer. It comes across as heavy and sluggish. Needs more carbonation, in my opinion.

Overall, decent but not great. I think this beer would be much better on tap or bottled. Cask does not work for it.
