Available from early spring through late summer, Tin Mill Red Caboose is an amber beer that nicely balances malt and hops. This is a great beer for someone just starting to get a taste of Micro-Brews.

The beer is a hazy dark amber color with a tiny tan head.
Aroma of sweet malt and fruit. Subdued.
Not too much taste either. Caramel and cherry. Slight hops late.
Light-to-medium bodied.

Clear bright amber-copper color with a nice foamy lasting off white head with some lacing. Has a sweet fruity and nutty aroma. Sweet and malty caramel flavors with a mild sweetness in the finish, medium body with a slick and smooth mouthfeel. Like all of their brew I have tried so far seems to be very boring.

Stopped in while out in Hermann MO out wine tasting with the wife. The brewer uses german malts and hops. The style here is a clean german beer. If you are into IPA's or Belgium styles of beer, this is going to be a bit tame but for what it is, it's a good beer.
A-Copper and pretty light in color.
S-More malt than hops. This beer is built off of the malt backbone.
T-Much like the smell, the taste is malt before you get a slight hop
M-good feel here! THis goes down pretty quickly.
O-A solid german style beer. Good for sitting outside in their beer garden and watching the world go by.

Served on tap at the brewery. Pours a golden orange color with a creamy head. Nose is sweet grain and cookie malt. Taste is prett similar. Lots of cookie and grain malts dominate this beer. A touch of grassy hops is on the finish. Mouth is creamy and a little watery and a medium body. Overall, this is a decent amber that is worth a shot. Pretty tame overall, but then again it isn't a style that is supposed to be.

appearance - 1/5 - I poured about a shot or two worth into a pint glass and had a full glass of foam. I dumped the foam and tried pouring it with the mouth of the bottle much closer to the bottom of the glass. Ended up pouring out 1/3 of the beer due to excessive foam.
Now, looking at the beer in the glass, this is the haziest lager I've ever seen (it is Amber in color). Dopplebock looks more transparent than this beer!
Needless to say, it's got great head and lacing!

smell - 3/5 - Smells earthy and a little odd. Maybe wet hay or a barn. Beginning to think it is a bad batch!

taste - 3/5 - Tastes better than it smells/looks. Kind of a lemon flavor. As a homebrewer, I feel it has a "not quite what I was trying to make" kind of taste.

mouthfeel - 3/5 - Overcarbonated yet feels undercarbonated, if that is possible. Hmmm Flavors clear out quickly.

overall - 2.5/5 - I want to like this because it's a Missouri brewery, but it's really not doing anything for me. I might try another from a different retail location at a future time to see if it was a bad batch or if this is the way it was made, but only if I can get it in a build-your-own.

A - Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, tan head of foam. It left little to no lacing.

S - It smelled malty with some floral notes.

T- Nice malty backbone with some sweet caramel. A grassy bitterness.

M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A light bodied lager with a dry finish.

O - This is a nice amber lager. Another solid brew from Tin Mill.

A new offering from the Tinny brew people, I enjoyed this at the brewpub after the Hermann Brews/Blues festival.

Poured a hazy mahogany brown with tinges of copper at the edges, topped off by a frothy ivory head. Thin but lasting lace rings as I progressed down the glass.

Subtle hints of malty caramel in the aroma, but more pronounced with the quaff. Sweet chocolate joins in the mix, finishing with a spicy hop. Crisp and clean lager beer, this was one fine beer. Glad I stopped in - try one if in Hermann, or if it makes it way to the bottling line.
