Big cloudy tan color with fair off white head. And healthy lace. Mild yeasty malt aroma. Creamy extravaganza of bready malt well carbonated and solid bodied. Easy drinking. I had the bottom of the barrel and it was like a yeasty hopped up milkshake. Awesome! I don't recall the exact ABV, somewhere just over 7% I believe, alcohol was not prominent but being the very bottom of the barrel I definitely didn't get a fair taste here, and still I loved it. The Half Moon folks didn't even want to serve it but I insisted and was glad I did. Look forward to trying it again when higher up the keg!
Update 6/18/08 - I just tried it again on tap without the distorted bottom of the barrel condition and again found it very good. Probably my favorite of the Half Moon's so far along with the Porter and the Hazelnut Brown Ale. Trying it under more normal conditions it was, of course, thinner and less of a milkshake consistency but it retained good body and offered a nicely carbonated, drinkable apple tinged ale. Still liking it!
