On tap at Hops and Pie. Bright red color, very clear, minimal head. Aroma was mildly sour, cherry, fruit, not bad at all. The flavor was more sweet than sour but there was a mild tartness. Notes of cherry and fruit, sugar. Overall this didn't taste as traditional as say a Rodenbach or Jacobins Rouge, I didn;t really get any oak notes at all, but it was still a nice beer without being overboard on the sourness.

I had Great Divide's Sour Puss on tap at Freshcraft. The Sour Puss pours a orangey red color with a thin white head. The smell reminds me of Granny Smith apples, white grapes, and apple cider vinegar with perhaps a touch of oak. The taste contains notes of Granny Smith apples, raspberries, white grapes, apple cider vinegar, oranges, oak, caramel, candied Belgian sugar, and perhaps a touch of peppery spice on the finish. I thought it was a pretty solid representation of the Flanders Red style, and I'm excited to see Great Divide putting out some sour ales. I didn't think that anything stood out to me as particularly unique or memorable, but it was a very solid beer overall.

I had this one at Great Divide in downtown Denver in early January. I do like Berliner Weiss/Brett (full disclosure), so a freshly brewed sour was a no-brainer to try. It poured clear, had a citrusy/lemony, sour aroma, and puckering sour taste. I always wish that they have more power, but this one was fairly true to style. I would have another, if on tap, but would hope to have it when the weather was a lot warmer.
