From the snow-covered crags of the Himalayas to the panifici of Southern Italy, Yeti is a worldly creature. For this latest creation, Yeti Imperial Stout has wandered into pastry stout territory. Almonds, coconut, and lactose enhance the sweetness of this indulgent treat, while the traditional Yeti roastiness fades slightly into the background. Who knew Yeti had such a sweet tooth?

19.2 oz. Can
Canned On: APR 19 2021
Poured into a Trillium glass a pretty nice dark brown/black color, pretty nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy/quick one-finger plus tan head, which leaves minimal sticky lacing behind. The nose is pretty nice, malty, hoppy, with a pretty nice touch of chocolate/toffee, coconut, almonds, roasty, licorice. The taste is pretty nice, malty, hoppy, pretty nice touch of chocolate, toffee, slight coconut, almonds, roasty, licorice, some nice sweetness. Medium Body, ABV is hidden very nicely, this is a pretty tasty beer. Overall, a pretty nice sipper.

Went to Windmill Farms to grab some stuff for Chad and $113 later I had way too much beer. I really enjoy the Yeti series so was excited to try another one. Great Divide’s website described it as “From the snow-covered crags of the Himalayas to the panifici of Southern Italy, Yeti is a worldly creature. For this latest creation, Yeti Imperial Stout has wandered into pastry stout territory. Almonds, coconut, and lactose enhance the sweetness of this indulgent treat, while the traditional Yeti roastiness fades slightly into the background. Who knew Yeti had such a sweet tooth?”
Poured a pitch black color with two fingers of dark khaki tan frothy head, which dissipated quickly. Fairly calm setting underneath with no noticeable bubbles. Decent spotty lacing. Decent retention. (Sight - 3.50)
Smelled roasty malt, dark chocolate, semi-char wood, almond, toasted coconut and milk chocolate. About as good from the can. (Smell - 4.00)
More coconut on the tongue. Got toasted coconut, dark chocolate, roasty malt, semi-char wood, almond and milk chocolate syrup. Super smooth for 9.5 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.00)
Full body. Creamy-to-sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Maybe not quite as good as I was hoping for but still outstanding. (Overall - 4.00)

It looks like motor oil when poured from a 32 fluid ounce can into a clear glass liter mug. It's almost as viscose and the main difference is the foamy tan head that accompanied the pour. Black coffee brown and mabe then so, closer to black. The aroma is much like other Imperial stouts, with strong notes of expresso and dark chocolate. There is a background contribution that adds something like marzipon. This is another good tasting sweet desert Imperial brew from Great Divide, a brewer that does this sort of thing well. There's not much of coconut to the taste, so this comes across as a pleasant almond chocolate treat. The hint of the high ABV is only slightly more than the negligible glass lacing. Sweet treat with a high ABV, this is one.

Pours thick and effervescent with 2+ fingers of caramel colored head. Zero head retention, viscous
S: Roastyness & iron, caramel & vanilla
T: Follows the nose, some vanilla & iced coffee, smokeyness & a touch of toasted coconut up front. More coffee, smokeyness & vanilla as this warms, plus a little dryness & sweet coconut. finishes slightly smokey, with sweet iced coffee & coconut
MF: Medium body, fairly firm carbonation
Well executed Pastry Imp Stout with the Yeti flair, super easy to drink despite the heft

Black in color with no penetration to light. There’s a fingernail of brown around the rim and covering nearly all of the top. The aroma is of almonds, coconut, and lactose. I’m tasting lots of almonds, coconut, and lactose. The mouth is thick and creamy.

19.2oz can poured into a snifter
A- pours jet black in color with a dark brown head that reduces to a ring around the edge
S- an interesting clash on the nose; it's got that signature roasted and charred malt on the nose, but complimented by a creamy vanilla lactose note as well. Undertones of fresh coconut, almonds, nutty coffee, caramel and black licorice
T- definitely sweeter than a typical Yeti, initial sweetness gives way to that signature charred malt, adding roasted coffee and black licorice. Mid-palate gives sweet notes of milky lactose, coconut and vanilla. The finish is slightly nutty with more roasted barley, sweet lactose on the linger
M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that continues into the finish
O- I love Yeti and I love pastry stouts, but this wasn't the best mashup. The signature roasted note of Yeti seams to clash a bit with the sweetness of the lactose

19.2oz can. Poured out an opaque, oil-black color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sticky rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of almond, chocolate, toffee and some roasted malt. Sweet chocolate, almond, toffee, caramel and roasted malt. Mild bitterness.
