16 ounce can into a snifter. 2022 edition, had 11/25/22.

Pours a reddish cola color, mostly opaque, with a brief quarter inch head and a little foamy cling. Aromas of bourbon, cherry, caramel, malt, raisins, some oak, light char. Mostly the same flavors: bourbon, caramel, malt, cherry, raisins, some oak, light chocolate. Smooth, a solid medium body, appropriately carbonated.

A terrific blend of styles, with great barrels and vibrant aromas and flavors. This was really enjoyable.

Dark, opaque brown body; moderate sized head, dense and velvety. Fantastic aroma; warm and sweet; cocoa and chocolate; lightly roasted grain; a light sense of brown sugar. Huge flavors; sweet milk and bitter chocolate; boozy; a suggestion of anise. Heavy body; chewy; big alcohol warmth.

A very fine, robust dark ale with some great fine taste and feel character. The barrel aging and high ABV are quite evident but are tamed just enough to make this an enjoyable sipper.

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours quite black - maybe very dark brown. Almost no head - just a rim around the glass of brown. The nose is super intense toffee, bourbon, raisins, brown sugar, vanilla, milk chocolate, and almost a rum presence. Very nice. Can't wait to taste it!

The taste is incredible. Could easily pass as a big English barleywine. Huge notes of toffee, bourbon, vanilla, maple, brown sugar, figs, prunes, raisins, chocolate, licorice toffee, a slight almond note. Definitely a bit on the boozy side, but it's perfect for this beer.

The mouthfeel is thick, robust, and in your face. Just lovely. Aftertaste is sweet bourbon and toffee. Overall, a phenomenal beer.

Very dark appearance with slight tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is a very pleasant barrel aged slightly sweet caramel. Taste is a boozy barrel aged caramel with a nice feel.

16oz can served in a tulip. Dated 06/15/20. If I remember correctly, I bought this at Whidbey Beer Works a few weeks ago.

Pours dark brown with little or no head and little carbonation. Moderate sediment toward the end of the pour. Smell bourbon, oak, dates, booze.

Taste is rich, dates all over the place, with some vanilla and toffee, booze is strong but not burning, oak and earthiness, bourbon is still there.

Mouthfeel is thick, rich, and still. This is a very nice beer.

can into glass
Very dark semi-murky color, which has a reddish hue in the pour stream. Rich, spiced caramel and some raisin/prune tone to the aroma. Heady, boozy concentrated spiced caramel with a hint of sharpness. Quite a note of sweetness during the initial taste, that turns to a pleasant boozy spice character.
