A great blend of porter/stout and coconut taste and aroma. Well done guys. Even though I do not know if this is brewed in or infused, I really don't care, the end result is pretty damn tasty: if you like a bit of coconut in your beer.

a really delicious beer, heavy on the coconut, and you can really appreciate the toasted aspect of it, really tropical and nutty and dense in the bigger delicious porter base. its dark, matte finish and dense, with a full inch and a half of paler head, good contrast. it smells like the coconuts right up front, maybe a little sweet, heavily roasty from the dark grain, and maybe a little bit metallic, like its been in the keg awhile. not old or oxidized, just a little thinner and twangier than it probably was as one time. i love the flavor of the coconut. it leads the way, and seems to have a richness that i am not used to in these types of beers. its layered and real, true to the coconut itself, not a syrup or an extract or anything like that, its full on the real thing. not a sweet suntan lotion thing either, its as bitter as it is sweet, and the beer is drier overall, which lends to drinkability, especially for the style. lots of body and a great big expansive foaming mouthfeel that i really like. overall this is a pretty impressive beer, different and seemingly more legit on the coconut than many of the others out there, and they have done a great job with the base porter too. i wish i had this a little fresher, but it was still delicious. one of my favorites from crow peak to date.
