Pours a nice golden colour with a finger thick white head that quickly dissipates leaving a ring around the liquid top. The nose leads with musty yeast, cinnamon and some pale malts. Nothing really stands out though. A bit of clove comes through on the tongue along with the fore mentioned cinnamon and a sweet bread like flavour. There is a bit of lingering bitterness but most of the flavours take a bit of a back seat to the spices. The mouthfeel is in the mid- range but I find the carbonation a bit much giving you a bit of immediate gassiness. An okay beer but not something I could imagining drink a lot of.

Bottled
Big Cinnamon aroma on opening bottle then cheap beer smell in glass and that goes for the flavour or lack of it as well, okay but no depth and very thin

500 ml bottle purchased and consumed in Fife. BB date stamp: 29 Feb. 2016

Pours bright amber with a head that soon reduces to a lasting ring. The aroma reflects heavy spicing, with a load of cinnamon and clove, admittedly bearing some resemblance to hot cross buns. The flavor is better with the spicing now seeming generous but not unbearable. Still, a rather artificial sense of hot cross buns is created in the over-spiced golden ale.
