Copenhagen 23/3 2017. 50 cl bottle from Meny. Some Devilish fellow hanging out with a Dark sun on the label.
Pours very dark red tinged brown with huge off-white head. Settles as 1,5 cm thick layer of fluffy foam. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is not particularly intense. Tart citrus, black pepper, subdued sweetness and some sharp acidity.
Strong carbonation and medium thick palate.
Flavor is lightly sweet followed by sharp sourness with a peppery burning sensation.
A bit one-dimensional and a little bit thin. But I like the black pepper - that you can actually both smell, taste and feel.

A: The beer is very close to being jet black in color, but has traces of clear dark reddish brown when held up to a bright light. It poured with a half finger high off white head that died down, leaving a large patch of bubbles that mostly covered the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of black peppercorns are present in the nose along with notes of juniper berries and hints of Belgian yeast.
T: The taste has flavors of of dark malts with notes of roasted malts, peppercorns, and juniper berries as well as hints of Belgian yeast.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer might look like a stout upon first glance, but this is quite complex as a saison and could be one that is suited for the colder months.
