On tap. Tan head. Black color. Lace.
Massive coconut and fudge. Can’t believe how much coconut is here compared to what others say. Chocolate cake, light vanilla, caramel. Smooth and creamy. Liquid mounds bar. Great stuff for a non ba non imp stout.

Deep, earthy brown body, nearly black; incredibly dense and creamy khaki hued head. Outstanding aroma of cocoa and coconut; mocha; brownies. Rich chocolatey sweetness on the taste; roasted grains and nuts; vanilla and coconut; light to moderate bitterness accents the malt sweetness; very light alcohol presence. Heavy body; rich and velvety; residual sugars coat the palate; dull sweetness overall with a subtle dryness for balance.
This is a truly outstanding imperial porter. It is immensely rich and powerfully flavorful, rife with depth and complexity. It exudes beauty and elegance in its presentation, and drinks like nobody's business. A truly beautiful beer...

Draught 8oz snifter at The Brass Tap here in Baltimore. Dark brown verging on black (admittedly lighting wasn't great). Off white head settles into a nice cap with significant lacing. Impressive aroma of (roasted?) cocoa with maybe some coconut as it warms. More coconut to taste, but still mostly cocoa. Medium carbonation to start, yielding to a solid yet smooth body with acholol bringing up the rear. Definitely a dessert drink, but a good one.

While I wasn't a big fan of the orignal, this one improves in the biggest flaw, the body. Still velvet smooth and decently crisp for the style, it no longer is watery in the middle, maltwork is thorough yet still easy drinking for warmer days. Smell and taste are the same: toasted coconut drizzled in chocolate, with light roast and subtle earth supporting. Great pitch black pour with a tan cap and lacing. Bravo!

From the draft at the Waikiki location. Nice appearance overall, with a nice head in the flight glass. In the nose, it is roasted malt and a touch of coconut. In the mouth, a bit of the same. Nice porter!

Poured from a 750ml bottle purchased from the brewery back in March 2019.
Appearance - Pours a dark chocolate brown with two fingers of foamy tan head.
Smell - roasted malts, chocolate, toasted coconut, mocha, earthy and leafy hops, nutty aromas, and earth yeast.
Taste - earthy and leafy hops upfront then quickly goes into the roasted malts, chocolate, coconut, and mocha. The nutty aromas and earthy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium to full bodied with light carbonation. Finishes velvety smooth and creamy with the chocolate and coconut lingering.
Overall - A robust and flavourful imperial porter. Excellent chocolate and mocha flavours from the roasted malts though I wish it had a tad more coconut flavour. Other than that a superb brew that is worth checking out if you find yourself at the taproom.

A nice porter to start or finish your day with. It has a nice tan head with a toffee, coffee, and dark chocolate esters. The coconut comes out in the first swallow along with dark malt and chocolate finish. It has a smooth rich mouth feel that leaves you wanting more. I highly recommend you try it im you ever visit Maui Brewing Company in Kihei, Hi

Thanks to Alex for another great Maui beer.
Dark brown body with a solid one and a half finger foamy head poured from a growler.
The aroma and taste is a great balance roasted malts and sweet coconut. Hints of dark chocolate with nice bitterness in the finish.
Heavy body but not sluggish, especially for an imperial porter.

On draft at the tasting room in Kihei. Dark black body, good opacity, one finger offwhite head, good retention. Smell is big coconut sweetness, balanced by a hefty dark cocoa bitterness, a bit of milk chocolate, light earthy grain. Flavour follows; nice balance, fairly sweet but good earthy bitterness and cocoa helps balance it out. Smooth, creamy, medium in body, nice carbonation, big yet well-balanced.
