In 2014, we released an entirely different IPA of similar name. Collaborating again with Seattle’s Suicide Squeeze record label, the brewery has remastered the recipe in a big, big way. Artfully cut like a 7” vinyl, *Special Edition pops with Mosaic, Amarillo, and Citra hops. Front loaded with organic 2-row barley and paired with deep cuts of specialty malt, this IPA is a well-rounded experience. Color-changing Special Edition cans available on a limited basis.

Nice flavor and hop taste without being overly bitter. A little dank and citrus flavor. Wasn't a big fan of Fort George but am starting to come around. Their first beers were not all that good in my opinion, but that was years ago. I don't know if this is still the 2019 edition or if they have a new one now. Rated 6-2-2020

draught
Thin but sustaining, creamy white head. Medium light golden orange appearance, which is quite clear. Very moderate amount of medium toasted and caramelized malt aroma, with a subtle, off-dry, tropical fruit medley note. Medium light levels of flavor and body. Even mix of medium light toasted malt, spiced tangerine peel, for the taste.

12 ounce can dated 8/11/22, so pretty fresh for the stock at my local grocery store.
Pours a solid yellow with a billowy white head. It looks great. The smell is quite fruity. The taste surprises me with its sweetness ... it's not super sweet, but it's something I wasn't expecting in an IPA. There isn't much bitterness, or at least not as much as I would like or expect.
I guess this beer is bringing out the curmudgeon in me. It's not a complete sweet milk shakey juice bomb like some things that get called IPAs these days. But it's well away from the classic WCIPA end of the IPA spectrum, so I'm a little disappointed. YMMV.

Poured from 12oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 6/17/22.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a light haze and two thick fingers of pillowy ivory foam atop that leaves a bit of chunky lace as it dissipates.
Smell: some sweetness up front, with piney and citrusy hop character. A classic NW IPA aroma, if a bit sweet for my taste.
Taste: a good citrusy, piney hop character, atop that sweet malt. There's also a good bitterness here, so the sweetness has some balance that was lacking in the aroma. The overall flavor is quite good.
Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a decent carbonation and a good creaminess. Fuller-bodied than a typical IPA.
Overall: I dig this beer. I get that at 7.2% you're getting into DIPA territory and some sweetness is to be expected -- but it is quite drinkable nonetheless.

A pretty good IPA. Clear gold color with a thick creamy head. Well balanced flavor, with mild pine bitterness. Very crisp clean finish.

Can pour-clear golden straw color with thick white fluffy head leaving frosty lacing. Nose has a bit of citrus with some grainy malt and a bit of dankness. Taste follows more or less with a bit of bitterness lingering on a dryish finish.
